Cee-Lo Green
Cee-Lo Green Is the Soul Machine
Date: 03.24.2004

I thought long and hard to come up with one word to describe how I felt after listening to this album. Refreshing!! Cee-Lo Green without a doubt proves that he is one of the most versatile artists in the world of music today.

He effortlessly transitions from soul, to braggadocios, to love song, to battle, to spoken word and back again.

He sets the stage from the beginning with 'Soul Machine' and lets you know that this is by no means the generic southern crunk that you would expect from the ATL.
With the track 'Sometimes' Cee-Lo challenges you to think, with lines such as 'Sometimes a rich man wont have a dollar, and all a poor man has is greed' Whoa.'

In 'Childz Play' featuring Ludacris, Cee-Lo definitely proves that he can 'spit on anything'

This is grown folks music that will probably go over the heads of those who have an affinity for the ubiquitous gun clapping ganstas. All is not lost; he does treat the trigger-happy HipHop heads with one song 'Glockappella' ' which is dedicated to all whom oppose his progress.

Ladies and Gentlemen, sometimes you need to stop shaking your ass and LISTEN.
